Jillian Marie Browning

Jillian Marie Browning is Assistant Professor of Photography in the Department of Art and Art History at the University of Alabama at Birmingham's College of Arts and Sciences. An interdisciplinary artist, Browning explores themes of feminism, identity, and contemporary Black experience through photographic media.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Photography from the University of Central Florida (2012) and an MFA in Studio Art from Florida State University (2015). Browning's artwork has been exhibited nationally and included in permanent collections of the Center for Photography at Woodstock, Southeast Museum of Photography, and University of Maryland’s David C. Driskell Center.
