Professor Jillian MacBryde is a leading academic in innovation and operations management at the University of Strathclyde's Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship. She holds the position of Associate Principal for Entrepreneurship and Enterprise, emphasizing her strategic role in fostering innovation across the institution. Her research focuses on organizational adaptation in changing environments, particularly in manufacturing, digital technologies, and sustainability.
Key projects include leadership of the ESRC Made Smarter Network Plus (InterAct), aiming to integrate social science insights into digital technology adoption for manufacturing resilience. She also advises public bodies like Innovate UK and the Scottish Government. Her work spans academic collaboration with 26 European partners in the FutureSME project, enhancing SME competitiveness through adaptive capabilities.
Research interests include productivity measurement, circular economy applications, and operational challenges in sectors like policing and food supply chains. She has secured significant grants, including £200k ERDF for a Workplace Innovation Centre and an 8m Euro EU FP7 project. Her recent activities include organizing international conferences and webinars on innovation and sustainability.
