Jill Terhaar Lewis is a tenured Professor of Vocal Music and Chair of Vocal Programs at Charleston Southern University. She coordinates vocal curriculum, teaches voice lessons, and serves as a music history instructor. A co-founder of the Contemporary Collaborations project, she fosters collaborations between student composers, singers, and poets to create new chamber works.

She co-founded the Empathy Project to cultivate empathy in teens through community artist collaborations.
