Dr. Jill Lany is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Lancaster University. Her research focuses on developmental psychology, particularly infant cognition and language acquisition.
Research Interests:
Dr. Lany investigates how early language environments influence cognitive development in infants. Her work explores mechanisms of word learning, speech perception, and comprehension in young children.
Recent Publications:
Her 2025 article in Developmental Psychology examines how home language environments predict language comprehension differences at 9 months of age.
Supervision:
Currently supervising PhD student Audred Visaya.
