Emma Mills is a Lecturer in the Department of Psychology at Lancaster University, focusing on language and reading processes in special populations. Her research integrates cognitive processing speed, working memory, and motivational/anxiety aspects of language use, alongside advanced statistical modeling techniques.
Her 2024 doctoral thesis explores single word recognition processes in atypically-reading adults through an exploratory, longitudinal lens. She has participated in numerous workshops and conferences, including sessions on Bayesian data analysis, latent class analysis, and Stan programming, emphasizing reproducible science and complex statistical methods.
