Jill K. Morris

Jill K. Morris, PhD serves as Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, with dual leadership roles at the KU Alzheimer's Disease Research Center as Assistant Director of the Biomarker Core and Director of the Developmental Projects Program.

Her academic foundation includes a B.A. in Biochemistry from William Jewell College, a PhD in Molecular and Integrative Physiology from the University of Kansas, and post-doctoral training at the University of Kansas Alzheimer's Disease Center.

Dr. Morris investigates systemic and brain energy metabolism differences between cognitively healthy aging and Alzheimer's Disease, exploring metabolic pathways as potential early markers and therapeutic targets. Her work bridges neuroscience, metabolism research, and clinical neurology to develop prevention and treatment strategies.

At the KU Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, she directs two critical initiatives: the Biomarker Core for identifying biological indicators of disease progression, and the Developmental Projects Program funding innovative pilot studies through competitive grants.
