Dr. Jiefu Chen is Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Houston's Cullen College of Engineering. His research develops computational methods for electromagnetic logging, subsurface wireless communication, and seismic data analysis in oilfield applications.
He serves as Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing and holds patents in logging-while-drilling technologies. Industry collaborations include Weatherford International where he received Technical Awards (2013-2015).

- Machine learning for geosteering inversion
