David R. Jackson

David R. Jackson is John and Rebecca Moores Professor and Associate Dean for Undergraduate Research at the University of Houston's Cullen College of Engineering. An IEEE Life Fellow, his research in applied electromagnetics has significantly advanced antenna design methodologies.

Research focuses on microstrip circuits, leaky-wave antennas, and electromagnetic compatibility. Recent investigations develop analytical frameworks for bidirectional radiation patterns and 2D periodic antenna structures that enable precise beam control for communication systems.

Publications consistently demonstrate innovations in antenna theory with practical applications in wireless communication and radar systems. Recent advances include cross-shaped 2D antenna designs and Zenneck wave excitation methods.
