Jie's research focuses on how institutional environments, particularly intellectual property rights (IPR) and rule of law, shape multinational corporations' (MNCs) decisions to offshore innovation activities. She utilizes survey data and patent data to analyze firm-level strategies and performance outcomes related to IPR enforcement, institutional misfit, and digital technology adoption. Her work contributes to debates on innovation governance and institutional theory in international business contexts.
She teaches courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in International Business and Innovation Management. Jie welcomes PhD supervision inquiries focused on innovation offshoring, digital technologies' impact on innovation strategies, and institutional influences on firm behavior.
