Jianyu Li is an Associate Professor and Canada Research Chair (Tier II) at McGill University, affiliated with the Department of Mechanical Engineering. He leads the Laboratory of Biomaterials Mechanics, focusing on interdisciplinary research at the interface of mechanics, chemistry, and biomaterials.
- Education: Ph.D. from Harvard University, B.Eng. from Zhejiang University
His research spans Bioengineering and Materials & Structures, with a focus on developing multifunctional soft biomaterials for tissue repair, surgical glues, hemostats, and biomedical devices. His work also investigates fundamental mechanical behaviors of soft materials, including adhesion, fracture, fatigue, and stimuli-responsive properties.
