معرفی
Dr. Jianbo Liu is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Queens College, City University of New York (CUNY). He leads the Liu Lab, which collaborates with institutions like the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) and focuses on instrumental analysis, biophysics, and energetic ionic liquids. His research integrates mass spectrometry, spectroscopy, and computational modeling to study biomolecular systems, reaction dynamics, and aerospace applications.
Education:
- B.S. and B.E., Tsinghua University (1992)
- Ph.D., Tsinghua University (1997)
- Postdoctoral Researcher, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Lawrence Berkeley National Lab
- Research Associate, University of Utah
Research Interests: The lab explores biologically relevant processes using advanced instrumentation, including mass spectrometry and guided-ion beam scattering. Key areas include biomolecule solution dynamics, nanomaterials, computational chemistry (molecular dynamics simulations), and the development of energetic ionic liquids for aerospace applications.
Awards & Funding:
- Air Force Research Lab Partnerships (EPA Agreement, Contracts)
- NSF Awards (2024-2027, 2019-2023, CAREER 2010-2015)
- CUNY and PSC-CUNY Grants
- ACS Petroleum Research Fund Grant (2008-2011)
Advising & Labs: Advises students like Jessie Wenjing, Jonathan, and May. Lab spaces include Mass Spectrometry facilities (NSB D333, D319), a Wet Chemistry Lab (NSB B309), and a Computer Cluster (NSB B308).
