معرفی
Professor Jian Wang is a faculty member in the McKelvey School of Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, serving as Director of the Center for Aerosol Science and Engineering (CASE). He holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology (2003) and previously worked at Brookhaven National Laboratory as a tenured research scientist and Goldhaber Distinguished Fellow. His research focuses on aerosol impacts on climate, air quality, and cloud systems, with field campaigns in the Amazon Basin, Eastern North Atlantic, and Arctic regions.
Educational Background:
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, Caltech, 2003
- MS in Chemical Engineering, Caltech, 1998
- BS in Physical Chemistry, University of Science and Technology of China, 1996
Research interests include aerosol lifecycle processes, radiative effects, and the development of advanced measurement technologies. Notable contributions include discoveries on Arctic sea salt aerosol production and stratospheric-tropospheric air mixing mechanisms.
Awards include the Kenneth T. Whitby Award (2013) and Goldhaber Fellowship (2002–2005). His grants include leadership in DOE’s Atmospheric System Research (ASR) Program and Here & Next Seed Grants (2023). The CASE lab under his direction addresses cutting-edge aerosol science challenges.
Labs/Teams: Director of CASE, collaborating on global field campaigns and instrument development.
