Jian Hua is an Associate Professor and Chair at the Bert W. Wasserman Department of Economics and Finance, Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College, CUNY. He holds dual BS degrees in Economics and Computer Science from the University of Washington and a PhD in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. His research focuses on empirical asset pricing and time series econometrics.
His recent work explores market returns through the lens of investor attention asymmetry, option market microstructure, and intraday trading dynamics. He has received multiple PSC-CUNY Research Awards (2011-2016) and the Eugene Lang Award (2014) for his contributions.
Dr. Hua serves on doctoral committees, actively referees for journals like Journal of Applied Econometrics and Review of Economics and Statistics, and contributes to academic service through conference organizing and departmental leadership roles.
