Jessie Fisher

Jessie Fisher is an Adjunct Professor at Metro State University in Saint Paul and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD). She holds a BFA from the University of Minnesota, an MFA from the University of Iowa, and additional studies at the Scuola di Grafica in Venice, Italy, and the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Fisher’s work focuses on painting and community-driven art spaces, including her role as a co-proprietor of Case Edgerton Studios, a converted church in St. Paul’s East Side housing studios, classrooms, and community gardens. She is also a founding member of Studio Nong, an artist residency program in GuangXi, China.

Research Interests: Fisher’s practice centers painting, cross-cultural artistic collaboration, and the intersection of art with community spaces. Her work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Weisman Museum of Art (Minneapolis), the American Academy of Art (Philadelphia), and galleries in Italy and China.
