Jessica Horvath Williams

Jessica Horvath Williams is an Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota, affiliated with the Departments of English and Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies. She recently co-hosted Twin Cities PBS' award-winning special Art + Medicine: Disability, Culture, and Creativity, which won a 2024 Upper Midwest Regional Emmy Award in the category 'Arts & Entertainment, Long Form Content.'

Education:

• PhD in English Literature, UCLA (2020)

Her research focuses on critical disability studies, 19th-century US history and literature, and intersections with domestic and slave labor, as well as early eugenicist discourse. She is part of the Critical Disability Studies Collective at the University of Minnesota and contributed to the ongoing Art + Medicine series produced with the Center for the Art of Medicine at the University of Minnesota Medical School.
