Jessica Hawkins is a Senior Lecturer in Humanitarian Studies at the University of Manchester's Humanitarian and Conflict Response Institute (HCRI). She holds a BA in European Studies (Lancaster University, 2005), a Master's in International Development (Manchester, 2009), and a PhD in Development, Policy and Management (Manchester, 2014). Her research focuses on historical sociology of camp formation, state formation in developing countries, and pedagogical approaches to teaching conflict and displacement. She leads HCRI's undergraduate programs, teaches core modules like Scholarship and Practice, and supervises dissertations. Her work contributes to UN SDGs addressing peace, justice, and sustainable development.
