معرفی
Jessica Finck is a Doctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry in Jena, Germany. She is affiliated with the Department of Biogeochemical Processes and the Molecular Biogeochemistry research group. Her research focuses on microbial communities in Amazon rainforest ecosystems, using advanced sequencing technologies to study their linkages to dissolved organic matter and biogenic volatile organic compounds. She is also involved with the Amazon Tall Tower Observatory (ATTO) and the International Max Planck Research School (IMPRS-gBGC).
Education highlights include a M.Sc. in Evolution, Ecology and Systematics from Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena (2016-2020) and a B.Sc. in Biology (2013-2016). She has held academic tutoring roles at FSU Jena and completed an ERASMUS internship studying wolf behavior in Austria (2018-2019).
Her research interests emphasize microbial community analysis, metagenomics, and the interplay between microbial activity and environmental chemistry. Notable awards include the Best Lightning Talk at MiCom 2021 and participation in specialized summer schools in archaeogenetics and 'omics technologies.
Her recent publications explore mixotrophic lifestyles in iron-oxidizing bacteria and historical plague analysis via archaeogenetics. Research tools include QIIME2, R statistical analysis, and advanced correlation methodologies.
