Jessica Belcher is a post-doctoral research fellow at Macquarie University's School of Psychological Sciences and the Lifespan Health and Wellbeing Research Centre. Her research focuses on academic stress among adolescents, anxiety/depression treatment across the lifespan, and autobiographical memory deficits. She holds a PhD from Macquarie University, where she also completed her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Clinical Psychology.
Her work bridges clinical practice and research, including studies on stress management strategies for high school students and interventions for older adults. Recent projects include systematic reviews of academic stress interventions and secondary analyses of randomized controlled trials targeting loneliness in older adults.
Key interests include the role of fear appeals in educational settings, stepped-care models for adolescents in community mental health services, and cognitive behavioral therapy applications for geriatric populations. She has presented at international conferences such as the International Conference on Memory and the Stress and Anxiety Research Society.
