Jessica Almqvist is a Professor of International Law and Human Rights and Deputy Dean for Research at Lund University's Faculty of Law. She leads the Human Rights Profile Area and coordinates the Master's Programme in International Human Rights Law. Her expertise spans international law, humanitarian law, criminal justice, and bioethics, with a focus on statehood, global health, and human rights frameworks. Almqvist holds a PhD from the European University Institute and has taught at institutions like NYU and the Elcano Royal Institute. Her research addresses pressing issues such as germline editing regulation, secession processes, and the role of international courts in human rights advocacy.
