Jesse Risley

Jesse Risley is an Instructor at the School of Education within Western Illinois University (WIU)’s College of Education & Human Services. He holds a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from WIU and a Bachelor of Science in History (educational sequence) from Illinois State University. His teaching focuses on undergraduate Social Studies Education and Multicultural/Social Foundations of Education courses at middle and secondary levels.

Professional Experience: Mr. Risley has 12+ years of full-time teaching in Macomb CUSD 185, instructing AP European History, U.S. History, Sociology, Psychology, and other social sciences. He actively participates in U.S. history grants for teachers and cultural exchange programs like the Macomb-Denmark Exchange to enhance global education opportunities.

Expertise: Specializes in instructional design for social studies classrooms, social-emotional learning, and data-driven school improvement strategies. His work integrates collaborative learning communities and applied school initiatives at the 9-12 grade level.
