Jesse Adams Stein is a Senior Lecturer at the School of Design, University of Technology Sydney, specializing in interdisciplinary design research. Her work intersects design history, labour studies, and climate change adaptation, with a focus on industrial craft, material culture, and skill preservation.
- Current ARC DECRA Fellow (2021–2024)
- Co-leader of 2023 All Hands on Deck symposium
- Author of Industrial Craft in Australia (2021) and Hot Metal (2016)
Her research includes the history and politics of high-visibility workwear with the Powerhouse Museum, and advocacy for 'right to repair' policies. Stein contributes to public history through roles in the Australian Centre for Public History and History Council of NSW.
