Jess Green is a Jazz Lecturer and Program Leader of the Equity in Jazz Program at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, University of Sydney. She holds a BA (Music) from ANU (First Class Honors) and an MMUS from the Sydney Conservatorium. Her research focuses on improvisation, multi-modal creativity, skill acquisition in musicians, and ecological approaches to learning. She is a genre-defying performer/composer with projects spanning jazz, contemporary classical, theatre, and visual art.

Her current projects include the Strange Attractors album with Dylan van der Schyff, The Signal Makers theatre collaboration, and sKin dance project. She leads the Girls Jazz+ program promoting gender equity in music education.
Grants include 2024 SCM Research Grant, 2023 Europe Equity Trip Scholarship, and 2022 RTP Masters Scholarship. Her work bridges performance art, education, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
