Professor Jerzy Koch is affiliated with Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, Poland, serving in the Department of Dutch and South African Studies under the Faculty of English. He holds additional roles as an Extraordinary Professor at Stellenbosch University (since 2021) and a Research Fellow at the University of the Free State (since 2001).

His research focuses on (Post) Colonial literature in South Africa, Suriname, and the Caribbean, the cultural dynamics of the Low Countries and South Africa, Dutch and Flemish literature from the 19th and 20th centuries, and Afrikaans and South African literatures. He previously led the Department of Low Countries and South African Studies at Adam Mickiewicz University (until 2021) and the Department of Dutch/Flemish Modern Literature and Afrikaans at the University of Wrocław (until 2011).
