Jerry Wiggert

Dr. Jerry Wiggert serves as Professor at the University of Southern Mississippi, specializing in ocean circulation modeling and remote sensing. Based at the Stennis Space Center campus, his research focuses on coastal ocean dynamics in the Gulf of Mexico.

His primary research examines coastal ocean modeling systems, hurricane impacts on wave dynamics, and freshwater inflow effects on estuarine environments. Recent work includes developing operational forecast models for Mississippi Sound and studying land-sea breeze influences on heat fluxes.
