Jerry White is a Professor of Practice in Religion and Political Science at the University of Virginia, and a Gabelli Fellow at Fordham University's Gabelli School of Business. He is also the Founding Partner and CEO of giStrat, and President of JW Impact Strategies, LLC. A Nobel laureate in Peace (shared with the International Campaign to Ban Landmines in 1997), White is renowned for leading high-impact campaigns that culminated in major international treaties, including the Landmine Ban Treaty, the U.N. Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, and the Cluster Munitions Ban.
Previously, he served as U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, launching the Bureau of Conflict and Stabilization Operations. His expertise bridges academia, policy, and activism, focusing on values-based leadership, entrepreneurship, and empowering changemakers through education.
Awarded the Senior Ashoka Fellowship, White’s work emphasizes transformative leadership and the intersection of religion, politics, and global governance. He advises Fordham’s Leadership, Peace, and Organizations (LPO) program on integrating ethical leadership with practical outcomes.
