Jerrold Scott is a Professor in the Department of Theater at Case Western Reserve University. He joined CWRU in 2000 as an assistant professor after serving as a visiting artist, held the Climo Junior Professorship (2004-2006), earned tenure as associate professor, and was promoted to full professor in 2013. He served as department chair from 2015 to 2023 and holds the Katharine Bakeless Nason Professorship in Theater and Drama.

Research & Expertise
Scott’s work bridges classical and contemporary performance, focusing on Shakespearean acting pedagogy, voice and speech training, and dialect coaching. His directing portfolio spans classical plays, musicals, and modern dramas, with notable productions like Arcadia, The Glass Menagerie, and The Rocky Horror Show. He has presented at the Association for Theatre in Higher Education (ATHE) and published in The Voice and Speech Review.

Scott is an associate member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), a member of Actors’ Equity Association (AEA) and SAG-AFTRA, and active in commercial voice-over work. He also served as resident dialect coach at Cleveland Play House for over a decade.
