Jerreme Jackson

Dr. Jerreme Jackson is an Assistant Professor at the University of Northern Iowa, affiliated with the College of Humanities, Arts and Sciences and the Department of Biology.

• Education: B.S. in Genetics (University of Kansas, 2002), Ph.D. in Life Sciences (Genome Science and Technology) (University of Tennessee, 2015), Post-doctoral training in Bacterial Physiology (Oklahoma State University, 2015-2019)

His research focuses on the molecular basis of Escherichia coli nutrient acquisition in the gastrointestinal tract and mechanisms by which resident microorganisms confer host resistance to pathogen colonization, using lepidopteran pests as models.

Teaching interests include Insect Physiology, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Genomics, and Proteomics.
