Jeremy Wallach

Jeremy Wallach is Professor in the Department of Popular Culture at Bowling Green State University’s School of Cultural & Critical Studies. A cultural anthropologist specializing in popular music and globalization, he has presented research internationally across 12 countries.

• Ph.D. in Anthropology from University of Pennsylvania (2002)
• B.A. in Sociology/Anthropology from Haverford College (1992)

His research explores:

• Transnational flows of popular music
• Heavy metal and punk subcultures
• Music’s role in globalization processes
• Ethnomusicological approaches to popular genres
• Cultural intersections with dinosaurs and cryptids
