Jeremy Wallach is Professor in the Department of Popular Culture at Bowling Green State University’s School of Cultural & Critical Studies. A cultural anthropologist specializing in popular music and globalization, he has presented research internationally across 12 countries.
- Ph.D. in Anthropology from University of Pennsylvania (2002)
- B.A. in Sociology/Anthropology from Haverford College (1992)
His research explores:
- Transnational flows of popular music
- Heavy metal and punk subcultures
- Music’s role in globalization processes
- Ethnomusicological approaches to popular genres
- Cultural intersections with dinosaurs and cryptids

- Founding member and former chair of Society for Ethnomusicology Popular Music Section
- Editorial board member of Journal of World Popular Music Studies
