Jeremy Peters

Jeremy Peters serves as Assistant Professor of Music Business in the Department of Music at Wayne State University, where he teaches courses spanning music IP, entrepreneurship, and industry strategy. A co-founder of Quite Scientific Records and Fellow of the Royal Society of the Arts (FRSA), he brings extensive industry experience from his role as Director of Music Publishing at Ghostly International, where he collaborated with major brands including Nike, Apple, and Sony PlayStation on film, television, and advertising projects.

His work examines resilience strategies for creative professionals, effectuation theory in music business education, and the impact of digital platforms on artist development, with particular focus on BIPOC entrepreneurs and post-pandemic recovery in the creative sector.

Analysis of his 2022-2025 publications reveals consistent themes: the application of VUCA frameworks in arts organizations, innovative pedagogical methods like mindfulness exercises for startup ideation, and ethnographic studies of Detroit's music ecosystem including case analyses of Ghostly International and the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.
