معرفی
Jeremy M Baskin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Cornell University, affiliated with the Weill Institute of Cell and Molecular Biology. His research integrates chemical biology and cell biology to study lipid signaling pathways, particularly focusing on phosphatidic acid metabolism and membrane dynamics. He holds a B.S. from MIT (2004), a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley (2009), and completed postdoctoral work at Yale School of Medicine (2009–2015).
Research Interests: Dr. Baskin’s lab develops synthetic chemistry tools to interrogate lipid-protein interactions, lipid transport, and organelle communication. Key areas include:
- Phospholipase D activity profiling using IMPACT technology
- Membrane editing techniques for lipid metabolism studies
- Role of phosphatidic acid in cell cycle regulation
- Wnt/β-catenin signaling modulation via lipid mediators
Awards: Sloan Research Fellowship (2019), NSF CAREER Award (2018), Beckman Young Investigator (2017).
Grants & Labs: Currently leads a lab at Cornell focused on lipid signaling, supported by NSF and NIH grants. Develops optogenetic tools and CRISPR-based screens for lipid pathway analysis.
Locations: Office: 461 Weill Hall, Cornell University, Ithaca, NY.
