Jeremy Hopper

Jeremy Hopper is a Lecturer at Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), specializing in Education and Psychology. He teaches on the PGCE programme for Social Science trainees and lectures in Counselling & Clinical Psychology, Developmental Issues in Childhood & Youth, and Understanding People. He holds a BA (Hons) in Social Science (MMU), PGCE (University of Manchester), MA in Education (MMU), and is completing an EdD by September 2020.

His research focuses on student engagement factors in higher education, particularly in neoliberal contexts, using qualitative methods. He has collaborated with the St James schools in Bolton to integrate psychological research into pedagogy and designed a statistics course for Riga University’s Creative Industries MA, examining the socio-economic impact of Baltic creative industries.

Jeremy speaks fluent Spanish and has been recognized with the 'Friend of Gorton Monastry' award. He is based in the Brooks Building, Room BR 2.54.
