Jeremy Goldhaber-Fiebert is a Professor of Health Policy and Core Faculty Member in Stanford's Centers for Health Policy and Primary Care and Outcomes Research. His work focuses on policy decisions for chronic diseases and their risk factors, combining simulation modeling, cost-effectiveness analysis, and behavioral economics. He has studied diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, cervical cancer, tuberculosis, and hepatitis C across multiple countries including the U.S., India, China, and South Africa.
Dr. Goldhaber-Fiebert holds a Harvard College A.B. (1997) and a Harvard PhD in Health Policy (2008). He previously worked as a software engineer and conducted public health research in Costa Rica. He has received the Lee B. Lusted Prize (2006, 2008) and serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the Society for Medical Decision Making.
Research interests include vaccination policies, adherence to medical treatments, and the impact of social determinants on health outcomes. His recent work addresses epidemics in prisons, kidney transplant waitlist management, and pediatric readiness in emergency departments. He leads the SC-COSMO team modeling infectious disease dynamics in correctional facilities and other high-risk populations.
Notable achievements include developing novel methods for cost-effectiveness analysis and discrete-event simulation frameworks (e.g., DESCIPHR). His interdisciplinary approach bridges decision science, global health, and policy analysis.
