Jeremy Derrick

Jeremy Derrick is a Professor of Molecular Microbiology at the University of Manchester, affiliated with the Division of Evolution, Infection and Genomics. He holds a PhD from the University of Cambridge and has extensive experience in structural biology, microbial pathogenesis, and vaccine development. His work focuses on bacterial surface proteins, particularly those of Neisseria meningitidis, and their applications in vaccine design. Derrick has led interdisciplinary projects on protein aggregation's immunogenicity and type IV pilus assembly mechanisms. He has received notable awards, including the Lister Fellowship and Wellcome Trust grants.
