Dr. Jeremy Aroles is a Senior Lecturer in Organization Studies at the University of York's School for Business and Society, leading the Management and Organization Studies (MOS) group. He holds a PhD from the University of Manchester (2016) and has prior academic roles at Durham University. His research focuses on new work practices (e.g., digital nomadism, gig economy), cultural institution management, and intersections between fiction and organizational theory. Key contributions include studies on platform capitalism, museum commercialization, and qualitative methodologies.
Research interests include:
- Emerging work practices and digital labor dynamics
- Cultural sector governance and institutional logics
- Interdisciplinary approaches using actor-network theory, Deleuzean philosophy, and phenomenology
