Boukje Cnossen

Boukje Cnossen is Professor of Business Administration specializing in Entrepreneurship, Organization, and Culture at Leuphana University Lüneburg's Institute of Management and Organization. Her research examines organizational practices in cultural/creative industries, with emphasis on spatial dimensions of creativity in coworking spaces, artist collectives, and creative hubs. Methodologically grounded in communication-constitutes-organization (CCO) and actor-network theory, her work investigates how space shapes creative collaboration.

She holds a PhD from Tilburg University, MRes from London Consortium (Birkbeck College/Tate/Science Museum), and BA from University of Amsterdam. Prior to academia, she worked as an art critic for national and international publications. Recent honors include EGOS Best Paper nomination (2023), Leuphana Institute fellowship (2023), and multiple research grants examining spatial transformation and organizational innovation.

Research Areas: Spatial organization of creative work, material practices in legitimization processes, digital-physical workspace interfaces, and multispecies organizational approaches. Her publications appear in Organization Studies, Human Relations, and Creativity & Innovation Management journals.
