Jeremie Calais

Jeremie Calais, MD, MSc, is an Associate Professor and Director of the Clinical Research Program at the Ahmanson Translational Theranostics Division within the Department of Molecular and Medical Pharmacology at UCLA. He is also a Faculty Member at the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center, Institute of Urologic Oncology, and the Physics and Biology in Medicine Graduate Program. His research focuses on advancing Theranostics—combining tumor-targeted radionuclide imaging and therapy—to improve cancer patient outcomes.

Dr. Calais received his MD from the University of Paris-Diderot in 2010 and trained in nuclear medicine at the Henri Becquerel Cancer Center. His work leverages PET/CT imaging for cancer phenotyping, radiation therapy planning, and treatment response assessment, particularly in prostate cancer and neuroendocrine tumors. He leads clinical trials such as FLEX-MRT, RE-LuPSMA, and SATURN to optimize PSMA-targeted therapies and has contributed to the academic NDA submission for 68Ga-PSMA-11.

His research program at UCLA integrates investigator-initiated and industry-sponsored studies, collaborating with Urology, Radiation Oncology, and Medical Oncology departments. Recent projects include FAPI PET for tumor stroma targeting and machine learning applications to predict outcomes in metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). Despite funding challenges, his team continues to pioneer evidence-based strategies for advanced prostate cancer care.

Dr. Calais is an Honorary Board Member of the SNMMI Correlative Imaging Council and serves on the Committee Member for the Prostate Theranostics and Imaging Centre of Excellence at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre, University of Melbourne.
