Jens Plücker

Jens Plücker is a distinguished musician and educator affiliated with the University of the Arts Bremen. As a principal hornist, he has held key roles in renowned orchestras including the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, Hamburg Philharmonic State Orchestra, and Berlin Philharmonic. He has also served as CEO of the Academy of the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra since 2012. His teaching responsibilities include leading courses in Chamber Music and Orchestral Studies/Repertoire.

Plücker’s career spans solo performances with orchestras like the Tokyo Philharmonic and Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg, alongside chamber music collaborations with the Delos Woodwind Quintet, which won top awards at international competitions. He actively engages in masterclasses globally and contributes to the NDR Brass ensemble since 2004.

Recipient of the Eduard Söring Prize (2000), his pedagogical work emphasizes brass instrument training and orchestral repertoire. He coordinates events such as brass masterclasses and studio concerts at the University of the Arts Bremen.
