Jenny Wickham is a PhD postdoctoral researcher and research engineer at the Brain Repair and Imaging in Neural Systems (BRAINS) Research Group at Lund University's Faculty of Medicine, with affiliations to the national StemTherapy initiative. Her work bridges neuroscience, neurology, and regenerative medicine through optogenetics and brain tissue research.
Her research focuses on
- Epilepsy mechanisms and translational therapies
- Optogenetic circuit modulation
- Interneuron dynamics in seizure networks
- Neuroinflammatory interventions
- Ex vivo brain slice preservation
- Neuropeptide-based treatments
Across her 2023-2018 publications, key trends include optogenetic epilepsy control, interneuron-targeted interventions, and translational approaches combining neuroscience and regenerative strategies for drug-resistant epilepsy.
As conference chair for Neuroscience Day 2024, she contributes to academic event organization within her field.
