Jenny Rossen is an Associate Professor and Docent at the Department of Health Promotion Science, Sophiahemmet University. Her research focuses on lifestyle and behavioral change, particularly how physical activity influences health outcomes in populations with prediabetes and type 2 diabetes. She evaluates individually tailored tools for behavior change and investigates the balance between everyday activity, cardio training, sedentary time, and sleep to inform public health recommendations.

- Sophia Step Study: Long-term follow-up of a randomized controlled trial on step-count monitoring and counseling.
- OPTIMIST: Analyzes optimal combinations of physical activity, sleep, and sedentary time using global datasets.
- E-health for Physical Activity: Examines patient and healthcare professional perceptions of digital tools for diabetes management.
- LongLife Active: Evaluates a digital health service for sustainable lifestyle changes.
- Teaching: Courses on lifestyle interventions, behavioral theory, and scientific research methods.
- Collaborations: Member of the international PACE project and Sophiahemmet’s global development working group.
She supervises 2 doctoral students at Sophiahemmet University and 1 at Karolinska Institutet. Her work integrates clinical practice, public health, and digital innovation to address chronic disease prevention.
