Dr. Jenny Di Trapani is a Senior Lecturer in Bioscience at Griffith University's School of Environment and Science. Her research focuses on redox systems in cancer biology, antioxidant mechanisms, and therapeutic targeting of thioredoxin pathways. She holds a PhD from Griffith University and Bachelor of Science with Honors from University of Palermo.
Research interests span biochemistry of carbonic anhydrases, redox signaling in lymphoma and leukemia, melanogenesis regulation, and pedagogical innovations in bioscience education. Her work combines molecular oncology with translational applications in drug development.
Publications demonstrate consistent focus on cancer metabolism, enzyme inhibition strategies, and redox homeostasis. Recent work explores novel therapeutic approaches targeting dual enzyme systems and metal-based compounds.
Awards include the 2024 ESC Sustainability Award, 2022 Internationalisation Award, and multiple teaching commendations. As principal supervisor, she mentors doctoral candidates in cancer redox biology and therapeutic development.
Funded research includes studies on carbonic anhydrase inhibitors, Traditional Chinese Medicine extracts, virtual laboratory development, and STEM education enhancement through the MathBench program.
