Jenny C. Aker is a Research Professor at The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy and holds a joint appointment in the Department of Economics at Tufts University. She serves as Co-Director of the Center for International Environment and Resource Policy (CIERP) and Director of the Fletcher Leadership Program for Financial Inclusion (FLPFI). Her roles include Non-Resident Fellow at the Center for Global Development (CGD) and co-Chair of the DigiFI Initiative at J-PAL. Previously, she worked as Deputy Regional Director for Catholic Relief Services in West and Central Africa (1998–2003) and completed a PhD in Agricultural Economics at UC Berkeley (2008).

Her career bridges academia and practice, combining rigorous research with field experience in humanitarian aid and policy. She has held adjunct roles at institutions like the International Food Policy Research Institute and taught at the Fletcher School since 2009, advancing to full Professorship in 2018 before her current Research Professor appointment (2024).
