Jenny Brown is a Teaching Professor in Political Theory at the Department of Politics and International Studies (PAIS), University of Warwick. She previously served as an Associate Tutor at PAIS and a Postgraduate Teaching Assistant at the School of Public Policy, University College London (UCL). She holds a PhD from UCL, completed prior to her current role.
Her research explores state-culture dynamics, focusing on marital disestablishment theory and contemporary food sovereignty movements. Central themes include liberal state neutrality, LGBTQI+ rights recognition, and intersections between indigenous knowledge systems and climate science.
Teaching responsibilities in 2024/25 include PO201 Political Theory from Hobbes: Seeking Freedom and Equality. Her scholarship bridges normative political theory with applied questions about cultural recognition and institutional legitimacy.
