Miri Davidson is an Assistant Professor in Political Theory at the University of Warwick's School of Politics and International Studies (PAIS), joining in 2022. Previously, she completed her PhD and taught at Queen Mary University of London. Her work focuses on the intersection of Marxism and anticolonial thought, particularly examining postwar French radical political thought and the relationship between anthropology and far-right ideologies.
Her research centers on two main strands: the influence of 'primitive societies' ideas on 1945–1975 French radical thought, and anthropology's connections to far-right movements. She is currently writing a book titled *Primitivism Against Marxism: French Anthropology and Radical Political Thought, 1945–1975*, stemming from her doctoral research.
Teaching responsibilities include directing PO201: Political Theory After Hobbes and contributing to PO301: Issues in Political Theory. She supervises students in continental philosophy, Marxist/post-Marxist theory (including feminist Marxism), decolonial/postcolonial studies, and far-right analysis.
Her publications engage with SAGE Handbook of Marxism, Millennium: Journal of International Studies, and venues like Social Text Online and Radical Philosophy. She co-edited *Through That Which Separates Us* (2021) and has written extensively on decolonial theory, internationalisms, and anthropological critiques of political movements.
Her research has been supported by engagements with institutions like The Physics Room and Te Reo Kē, reflecting interdisciplinary collaborations. Office hours are held in the Social Sciences Building E1.15, with slots bookable via Calendly.
