Jennilee Davidson is a Research Fellow at Macquarie University's Motor Neuron Disease Research Centre, affiliated with the Macquarie Medical School. Her research focuses on cellular biology, protein degradation, and neurodegenerative diseases. She holds a PhD in Biomedical Sciences from York University and has prior roles in clinical research and industry, including Medical Sales Representative at Boehringer Ingelheim.
- Education:
- Bachelor of Science (Honours in Biology), Queen's University Kingston
- Master of Science (Molecular and Cellular Biology), York University
- Graduate Diploma (Neuroscience), York University
- Doctor of Philosophy (Biomedical Sciences), York University
Her research interests span cellular health mechanisms, proteomics, and neurobiology, with a focus on ALS/FTD pathogenesis. Key areas include protein degradation pathways, TDP-43 interactome analysis, and cyclin F's role in neurodegeneration. She has led projects like 'Developing a self-regulating TDP-43 degrader therapeutic for ALS' and 'Characterising the interactome of sequestosome-1/p62.'
Her publications explore topics such as fractal-based neurosurgery, cyclin F's impact on TDP-43 turnover, and proteomic profiling of neurodegenerative diseases. Collaborations span institutions globally, emphasizing translational research in ALS/FTD and protein homeostasis.
