Dr. Jennifer Withrow serves as Chair of the Department of Social Work and BSW Program Director & Associate Professor at Mount St. Joseph University in Cincinnati, Ohio. With over two decades of professional social work experience since 1999, she has held diverse roles across child welfare systems, foster/adoptive care administration, school social work, aging services, healthcare administration, and clinical practice. She has been teaching in higher education since 2008.
Her educational credentials include:
- Ed.D. in Educational Leadership (Higher Education focus) from Northern Kentucky University
- M.S.W. from University of Oklahoma
- B.S.W. from Northern Kentucky University
Dr. Withrow's research examines health disparities, service learning methodologies, and pandemic adaptations in field education, driven by firsthand recognition of systemic failures in child welfare. Her scholarship integrates social justice principles with practical applications across aging populations, clinical settings, and healthcare administration.
Professionally active in NASW, CSWE, and the Association of Baccalaureate Program Directors, Dr. Withrow also engages with local LGBTQ+ organizations and political campaigns. She recently joined her children's elementary school Site Based Decision Making Council for a two-year term after successful election.
