Geraldine Atkins-Siddiq

Geraldine Atkins-Siddiq, EdD, MSW, is an Assistant Professor and Director of Field at the Wesley College of Health and Behavioral Sciences, Delaware State University. Her work focuses on trauma-related social work issues, particularly in foster care systems and childhood development. She holds certifications in trauma training, college instruction, and human subjects research.

Education:

• M.S.W. in Social Work (Rutgers University, 2011)
• B.A. in Urban Studies (Rutgers University, Camden, 2009)

Research Interests: Explores trauma impacts on foster care youth, child welfare transitions, and self-care strategies for marginalized populations. Her work emphasizes practical interventions to address systemic barriers faced by at-risk youth.

Grants & Projects: Served as Primary Investigator for the LEND Program (2023) and the Field Placement Licensure Prep Engagement Grant (2022). These projects focus on enhancing social work education and clinical training for neurodevelopmental disabilities and licensure readiness.
