Dr. Jennifer Wallace is a Professor at the University of Maryland's Department of Government and Politics, directing the Master in International Relations Program. She specializes in environmental linkages to conflict, natural resource management, and development studies. Her research combines fieldwork in regions like the Mekong Delta and Southeast Asia, supported by grants from the U.S. State Department Fulbright Program and the University of Maryland’s Program for Society and the Environment.
Education includes a PhD from the University of Maryland, MAs in political science from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (Geneva) and the University of Maryland, a BA from Sarah Lawrence College, and a Certificate in Environmental Diplomacy from the University of Geneva. She previously worked at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, focusing on international security training.
Teaching focuses on conflict studies, international political economy, and Southeast Asia in global politics. Her work emphasizes experiential learning through field trips to Ecuador, Malawi, and Italy, integrating environmental and development perspectives.
