Dr Jennifer Turner is a Postgraduate Lecturer at the School of Optometry and Vision Sciences at Cardiff University, specializing in pediatric optometry and contact lenses. She is a registered practicing optometrist and dispensing optician with extensive clinical experience in hospital environments and nationwide practices.

Dr Turner's research focuses on methods to image and represent the anterior eye surface, how disease, injury, surgery and contact lenses affect this surface, and how functional vision impacts quality of life outcomes including mobility and confidence with daily tasks. Her work bridges clinical practice with technological innovation in vision science.
Her recent publications demonstrate a consistent focus on anterior ocular surface analysis, corneal topography measurement techniques, and ocular impression materials. These works reflect her expertise in both clinical optometry and the technical aspects of eye surface imaging and measurement.

Dr Turner has extensive teaching experience since 1995, currently teaching Pediatric Optometry modules (OPT006 and OPT033) at Cardiff University. Previously, she taught Contact Lenses and Advanced Pediatric Eyecare modules. She has supervised numerous students through her roles as Clinical Supervisor and Demonstrator at Cardiff University and as a Trainer and Assessor for the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
