Jennifer T. Cholnoky is the Department Chair and Senior Lecturer in the Department of Geosciences at Skidmore College. She holds an M.S. in Geology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a B.A. in Earth Sciences from Dartmouth College.

Research: Her work spans stable isotope geochemistry, radionuclide dating, and trace metal dynamics in lake sediments, with a focus on making geoscience education engaging and interdisciplinary. She also explores the intersection of geosciences with visual art through on-campus lava experiments.
Professional Background: Prior experience includes field geology for environmental consulting firms (including military/civilian projects) and roles as a certified diamond/colored gemstone grader, stone buyer, and appraiser in high-end jewelry retail.
