Jennifer Spires is an Adjunct Clinical Instructor of Nursing at Cumberland University's Jeanette C. Rudy School of Nursing and Health Professions. She joined the institution in 2019, teaching in Adult Health 2 clinical rotations and Nursing Foundations laboratories. Her nursing career began at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she worked for four years as a bedside nurse on a stepdown cardiac surgery unit. She transitioned to an ENT outpatient clinic as a nurse practitioner for eleven years before completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) in 2017 and entering nursing education.
Dr. Spires holds certifications and affiliations including Board Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (ANCC), membership in Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, Middle Tennessee Advanced Practice Nurses, and the Society of Otorhinolaryngology and Head-Neck Nurses. Her professional journey reflects expertise in clinical practice, advanced nursing roles, and nursing education.
